Meat, it’s always been in my life for as long as I remember. Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s in a small industrial town in Northern England, meat and 2 veg was the reality. Vegetarians were few and far between and Vegan wasn’t even in the dictionary.

Meat was the staple diet. Lamb Chops, Pork Chops, Minced Beef, Chicken, Turkey (at Christmas), and always accompanied by veg and potatoes. Of course there was variety, meat in a pie, meat in a pasty, meat in gravy, meat in breadcrumbs, meat between a bap… you get the idea.
Indian, Chinese and Italian was scarce and I don’t remember trying such exotic dishes until I was in my late teens or early twenties.
So after 46 years of eating meat, my body has finally said “No more”.

I won’t go into anymore detail…….
So this blog is my journey to reverse a lifetime habit and become healthier and leaner, before my next birthday….. 8 months and counting!
